We source and provide training for our staff in a variety of ways.
Naturally, much of our training is ‘on the job’ with employees learning from real life work situations but we also provide programmes of learning from external sources.
All new staff begin with Health and Safety training and a comprehensive induction.
Sales and Logistics embark on a modular internal training course designed to give them product knowledge.
Following this module, they progress through a Foundation Modern Apprenticeship (FMA) NVQ Distribution and Warehousing Level 2 programme. This includes Keyskills and gives students the opportunity to gain a City and Guilds Construction Materials Distribution qualification.
Bespoke training is also provided for specialist areas of our business e.g.
We support the University of Nottingham Management and Business Programme that has a comprehensive range of courses backed by European Regional Development funding.
Teambuilding is very important to us and to help us grow our teams we have taken part in outward bound exercises and sporting competitions such as angling, badminton, 5-a-side football and golf.
We are supporters of the Lifelong Learning principle and are also keen to assist any of our staff to follow programmes of learning in subjects that interest them.
